Preschool has been compulsory since autumn 2015. This means that a preschool spot will be assigned to your child and there is no need to apply for a place. A letter will be sent to guardians in January.
Preschool is organized in daycare centers or at school from 9 AM to 1 PM.
The transition between preschool and school should be smooth. Preschool serves as a bridge from early childhood education and care, and early childhood to school.

The main goal of the club activities is to enhance the well-being of children and young people. The aim is for every child and young person to have the opportunity to enjoy a hobby they like, for free, as part of their school day. Activities are organized based on students' wishes and the availability of leaders.
The school has its own Parent-Teacher Association consisting of 5 board members and a representative for the teachers. A new board is elected each fall.
The association aims to enhance the well-being of the schoolchildren and facilitate the teachers' work. Each class has jointly chosen class parents who act as liaisons to other parents and the board of the parent association.
The school hopes for good cooperation with the homes. For issues related to the children's schooling, please contact the class teacher first. It's important to reach out and discuss in good time.
We adults are responsible for ensuring our children learn good behavior. By setting a good example in all situations, we provide our young ones with lifelong role models.
Encourage each other to become people who are enjoyable to be around.
We ask parents to remind children to wear a bicycle helmet when biking to school.
The Parent-Teacher Association recommends:
- that students do not leave so early in the morning that they have to wait unnecessarily long on the schoolyard before classes start.
- that students dress appropriately on days when they have gym class (with a towel).
- that all clothing items are labeled.
- that everyone wears indoor shoes with light soles.
- that everyone biking to and from school wears a helmet. We hope for parental support in this matter!
Remember that:
- sufficient sleep is important for children.
- homework is part of schoolwork.
- parental support and interest are invaluable for school work.
- we learn good behavior at home already.
- reading aloud to children is beneficial.
