Notification of Water Construction Works (dredging)
According to the Water Act (587/2011), a written notification for dredging under 500 m³ must be submitted to the ELY Centre and to the water area owner. Dredging larger than 500 m³ requires a permit from the Regional State Administrative Agency.
If work on the shore/in the water is done with an excavator, a notification must be made. If the work is done with a shovel, no notification is needed.
Notification to neighbors who might be disturbed by the actions is also required.
The notification must be made at least one month before work begins, and approval for the dredging/water construction must be received before starting anything.
Water construction work such as dredging is carried out in the fall or winter to minimize potential damage to the water area and wildlife.
All materials must be placed on your own property; if you place materials on someone else's property, a written permit is required.
Placing materials in the water requires a permit from the Regional State Administrative Agency.
