Notification of storing manure remotely in a stack
Each livestock barn must manage its manure handling appropriately. For manure storage, there should generally be a sealed manure storage area if the amount of manure exceeds 20m³ per year. The manure storage should accommodate the entire year's manure production minus the amount of manure that is deposited on the pasture during the grazing season.
If the barn intends, for work technical or hygienic reasons, to store manure in the field in a manure heap, a written notification must be made to the environmental protection authority. This is to ensure that there are no noticeable emissions into water bodies.
