Environmental Permit

Activities that pose a risk of environmental pollution require a permit under the Environmental Protection Act. Such permit-required activities include animal farms, fish farming, energy production, outdoor shooting ranges, and industrial activities.

Environmental permit applications are handled by the municipal environmental protection authority or the regional state administrative agency.

The municipal permitting process takes at least three months and includes, among other steps, a two-month public notice period. Activities cannot begin before the permit decision is legally binding, so it is advisable to submit the application well in advance of the planned start of the activities.
