Vörå Days 2026

Vörå Days is an annual summer festival in Vörå that brings together locals and visitors for culture, community, and local involvement. Throughout the week, you can enjoy concerts, markets, exhibitions, club activities, and much more – all with a focus on local tradition and creativity.

Vörå Days 2026 will be held from June 26 to July 5. The program is created in collaboration with local organizations and the municipality, and offers something for all ages.

Join the charter boat Filifjonkan on a trip to Mickelsörarna. Here you’ll find walking trails, a viewing tower, peace and quiet, and Café Kummelskär’s delicious salmon soup. A tribute to a versatile artist and cultural preserver. Mårten Lassus made a significant impact on folk art painting and helped preserve local history and legends in the area.

Lovisa has always been interested in art and creativity; for her, expressing herself through art comes naturally. She is studying to become a visual artist at Novia. The exhibition opens on 29 June at 6 pm. It will then be on display during the library’s opening hours from 29 June to 7 August 2026.

Ferm is exhibiting pencil drawings from the series VÄSEN at the Campus Norrvalla gallery. Ferm, who was born in Oravais, has held exhibitions in Berlin, Brussels, Milan, Montreal and Warsaw, and has worked as a professor of art at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts. Most recently, she has been an artist-in-residence for the Pro Artibus residency programme at Åbo Akademi (Academill) in Vaasa for the period 2023–2026. She was named Young Artist of the Year in 2002. Her early work focused on urban environments and suburbs, whilst she has since broadened her subject matter to include, among other things, tourist films from Northern Ireland and weather phenomena.

She studied at Nykarleby Art School, obtained a Master’s degree from Aalto University and continued her studies at the Berlin University of the Arts. Ferm has received several significant grants and awards and is a co-founder of the art collective Platform.

The KAJ Tour is back!

The tour starts from the town hall at 12.00 (you can also join the tour in Vaasa)

We’ll visit places in Kevin’s home village of Komossa, as well as other KAJ venues in Vörå. We’ll finish the tour at Norrvalla with an authentic KAJ pastry and try out the sauna bench from the ESC stage.

This year we’re trying something new. The main celebration is moving to the start of the week and will mark the start of the Vörå Days.

We’ll gather for an evening to celebrate the past year, from Vörå Days to Vörå Days. We’ll be highlighting the people, the commitment and everything that’s happened along the way. It’ll be a festive yet relaxed evening featuring, amongst other things, music and texts from *I Rågens och Fjärdarnas Rike* and reflections on this year’s book.

During the evening, we will present the awards: Cultural Award of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Young Person of the Year, Sustainability Award and Medal of Merit.

At Myrbergsgården, you’ll find impressive textile collections, Vörå quilts, and folk art artifacts, while in the smithy, Niklas Svevar demonstrates traditional blacksmithing.

10:00 AM: Wreath-laying ceremony and commemorative speeches honoring the fallen and the regiment’s history. Speeches by Oderth Von Essen (“The importance of the Von Essen family for the Ostrobothnian Regiment”) and Hörnefors parish priest Moa Beak.
11:00 AM: Program: Olhas Theatre – focusing on both the soldier in the field and the endurance of women on the home front (from the unrest of the 18th century to the Lotta volunteers of the 1940s). A performance that ties history together.
12:30 PM: Closing: Joint gathering, ceremonial flag nailing and acknowledgements
