THEME: WATER
Water is included in the core content I1 of physical education in grade 4:
- "Physical education should include swimming, movement in water, and lifesaving."
The goals related to I1 in physical education in grade 4 are:
- M6 teach swimming skills so that the student can move in and rescue themselves from the water
K3: "It is important for students to learn how to move independently and safely in their local environment."
Water is included in the central content I4 in environmental studies for grade 4:
- "The content involves investigative tasks related to one's own living environment. Attention is paid to the living and non-living nature, the built and social environment, as well as phenomena, materials, and technical applications in the surroundings."
Water is included in the central content I5 in environmental studies for grade 4:
- "Combustion, photosynthesis, and the water cycle form the basis for understanding the principle of material changes and preservation. [...] They will investigate the interaction between human activity and different organisms and their habitats."

Climate Change is included in the central content I6 in environmental studies for grade 4:

The goals associated with I in environmental studies for grade 4 are:
- M1 to spark and maintain the student's interest in the surrounding environment and environmental studies and help the student recognize the importance of all subject areas within environmental studies
- M9 to guide the student in exploring, acting, moving, and taking field trips in nature and built environments
- M10 to provide the student with opportunities to practice working in groups by participating in various roles and social situations, inspire the student to express themselves and listen to others, and support the student's ability to identify, express, and regulate their emotions
- M16 to guide the student in geographical thinking and observing their surroundings and the world as a whole, as well as learning to use maps and other geo-media
- M18 to guide the student in exploring, describing, and explaining chemical phenomena, the properties and transformations of substances, and laying the foundation for understanding the principle of the conservation of matter
