THEME: FOOD AND NUTRITION

Food and Nutrition are part of the core content I5 in environmental studies for grade 1:

  • "Students delve into the basic conditions for life - nutrition, water, air, warmth, and care. They gain insight into food production and where drinking water comes from. Everyday health habits and skills are practiced."

Food and Nutrition are part of the core content I6 in environmental studies for grade 1:

  • Students learn about their local area and its significance.

The objectives related to I5 and I6 in environmental studies for grade 1 are:

  • M1 provide the student with opportunities to express their natural curiosity and help the student realize that the content of environmental studies is important for them
  • M3 support the student in developing a sense of the environment and guide the student to act sustainably in their local environment and at school
  • M15 guide the student to reflect on factors that promote growth and development, health, and well-being as well as the basic conditions for life
