Learning Path on Sustainable Development

This website is intended for educators working in early childhood education up to and including secondary education within Vörå municipality. The site may also interest parents, students, other school staff, or people curious about how Vörå municipality works with sustainable development in education.

The purpose of the site is to make information on education for sustainable development easily accessible to educators in Vörå municipality. In the municipality, a learning path for sustainable development has been developed to simplify the work for teachers and to provide all the municipality's students with the opportunity for structured education in sustainable development.

At the UN summit in 2015, member states agreed on common global goals for the work with sustainable development from 2016-2030. The action plan is called Agenda 2030.

The purpose is to eradicate extreme poverty and secure welfare in an environmentally sustainable manner.

In the schools in Vörå municipality, we will work with Agenda 2030 and its 17 global goals according to the learning path for sustainable development developed in the municipality. The learning path is designed so that some of the 17 global goals are covered each year in education from early childhood education up to and including secondary education, ensuring that students receive instruction in all 17 goals multiple times during their schooling in Vörå municipality.

Besides the global goals, the learning path also includes specific theme areas in social, ecological, and economic sustainability for each grade level.

The global goals are: 3, 9, 11, 12, and 15 

The theme areas are: Health and Well-being (social sustainability), Reproduction and biodiversity, and the Forest (biological sustainability) and Traffic (economic sustainability).
