ESC week in Vörå

“From the Village to Basel” – a week of activities celebrating language, identity, and culture in Vörå this May. The week highlights music, language, participation, and community – with a clear international connection to Eurovision Week in Basel, taking place in May 12–17.

During the week (May 12–17), the audience will experience performances by young artists, traditional folk music, dance workshops, panel discussions, and cultural encounters inspired by local dialects.

"KAJ WAS HERE" exhibition at Wasa Teater in Vasa. More info: www.wasateater.fi
Marianne Gråbbil-Hakkola exhibits "Glödande Färger". The exhibition is open from May 12-30 at the main library in Vörå (Härmävägen 8).
Starting May 1, a KAJ quiz is available along the Herrgårdsleden trail.
Maxmo Hembygdsförening will offer Family Sauna Packages at the Herrgårdssauna, with the option to order savory pie (not included in the sauna price). The package includes a sauna session plus access to the outdoor spa, salty snacks, and juice. The outdoor spa is shared between both saunas, so if both are booked at the same time, guests will need to share.
Sauna bookings are available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Book at least one day in advance via email at info@klemets.fi or on the website tottesund.sou.fi.
May 9-20: Exhibition of Minimello figures created by approximately 270 children from schools and preschools in the municipality of Vörå. The figures will be displayed in the windows at Oravais Pharmacy (Öurvägen 6B), Maxmo Library (Maxmovägen 243A), and Bio Astra in the center of Vörå (Vöråvägen 16), together with pieces created by grade 7 students at Tegengren School. The event is supported and coordinated by SKAPA Korsholm-Vörå.
Vörå Hemslöjd is open during week 20 Tuesday - Friday from 11 AM to 5 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Coffee with homemade buns every day, address: Vöråvägen 16, 66600 Vörå.

Everything you see is done by local artists and every now and then we have visiting talents that join in. Everything you see is for sale and we also have some great souvenirs for you to purchase! Opening hours: Monday-Thursday 12 pm-4 pm, Saturday 11 am-4 pm

Monday 12.5

On Monday during Eurovision week, songwriter/artist Josefin Sirén and music producer Jonas Sirén will invite a group of students in Vörå to the local music studio Siren Sound Factory for a workshop. They will get a crash course on how to write a song, try recording in the studio, and get an insight into what it's like to work as a songwriter and producer.

Storytime for the children, address: Härmävägen 8, 66600 Vörå.

Tegengrensällskapet is holding an open house at Tegengrengården on Norrvalla Hill starting at 10:00 AM. Learn about the property itself, why it has that name, and of course about Jacob Tegengren and his extensive work. Coffee will be served on site.

The Art Café from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Astragården, Vöråvägen 16, Vörå. Are you 12 years old or older and enjoy creating, having snacks, and hanging out with friends? Here you can work on your own projects, play board games, or get help and new ideas from an artist. During ESC week, everyone is welcome to drop by, get inspired, and purchase unique art and crafts made by the municipality’s youth!

Theme: The Vörå dialect with elements from KAJ’s songs and lyrics

Everyone between 16-18 years old are warmly welcome to join us for a game of mini-golf at Norrvalla. Bring your own picnic or buy snacks at the Norrvalla kiosk!

Restaurant Elsas kök: Vörå Spelmansklubb sing-along + dance
(1h + 1h) No registration needed - everyone is warmly welcome!

The program kicks off at 8:30 PM with two sketches from Byarevyn.

At around 8:45 PM, Thomas Enroth & Thomas Lundin will get the sing-along schlager party started! We’ll be bringing back timeless schlager classics, with the audience invited to join in. And just like on “Allsång på Skansen,” guest performers will appear—Sarah Nedergård, Maria Udd, and Markus Lytts, who will treat us to songs from the Vörå musical “Vänd om min längtan.”

Great news for you! On the 14th of May, we are organizing a karaoke night all about our favorite music competition - Eurovision!
We invite you to a fun karaoke evening where you can sing your best favorite songs and have a really good time!
There will be plenty to eat and a great chance to take fun pictures as a memory of the evening.

At Oravais Library: Thomas Lundin, the singer, actor, and writer who made his debut last year with the book "Tjo, hopp och kärlek - Om maten, mammorna och mig." Thomas will talk about the book’s main themes such as food waste, the joy of eating, and spending time together across generations. All sauna wagons on wheels are warmly welcome to Rökiö mill, with a parking fee of 10 € per sauna; bring your own firewood. Changing rooms and water are available. Coffee/soda, grilled sausages, and hamburgers are for sale. Musical performances and other programs. Welcome to enjoy the sauna from near and far!
