Rural matters
Vörå is the host municipality for rural administration, which is shared with Korsholm, Laihela, and Vaasa. Farmers within the cooperation area can handle their affairs at any of the area’s service points, regardless of their place of residence.
A joint rural committee with two representatives from each participating municipality is responsible for decision-making. The chairmanship rotates among the cooperating municipalities.

The Animal Keeper and Holding Place Register is used to manage notifications related to animal keeping and holding places.
If you intend to keep one or more cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, deer, camels, horses, fur animals, production rabbits, poultry, or bees and bumblebees, you must register the holding place for the specific animal species before beginning the animal keeping. The same reporting obligation applies to the establishment of a carcass place.

You can apply for compensation for damages caused by large predators (bear, wolverine, wolf, lynx) to crops, animals, property, and reindeer. Report damage caused by a large predator immediately to the rural economy authority in the area where the damage occurred, so that the rural authority can verify and assess the damage as soon as possible.
