I Rågens och Fjärdarnas Rike – a living cultural tradition
"I Rågens och Fjärdarnas Rike" is Vörå's annual cultural publication that reflects the region's rich history, vibrant traditions, and contemporary stories. The first issue was published in 1981, when Magnus Lindholm (Vörå municipality's first youth and culture secretary), together with the cultural committee, took the initiative to document and highlight the local cultural heritage. This gave birth to "I Rågens Rike – folkkulturella yttringar förr och nu", a tradition that has engaged and inspired people for over three decades.
When Vörå and Maxmo merged in 2007, the publication evolved into "Nya I Rågens Rike". With the municipal merger with Oravais in 2011, the annual publication began to include articles from the entire new municipality - Vörå, Maxmo, and Oravais - further expanding its cultural and geographic perspective.
To better reflect the whole of contemporary Vörå, the publication received its current name in 2017: "I Rågens och Fjärdarnas Rike".
Each year, the book offers new stories, historical retrospectives, personal portraits, and cultural reflections - a tribute both to the local area and the people who shape it.
