THEME: THE FOREST

The Forest is included in the core content I5 in environmental studies for the 3rd grade

  • "Students familiarize themselves with food chains, animal and plant reproduction, nutrient production and the food cycle, as well as the use of the forest."

 

The goals related to I5 in environmental studies for the 3rd grade are:

  • M1 to spark and maintain the student's interest in the environment and environmental studies and help the student realize that all subject areas in environmental studies are important for them
  • M5 to assist the student in planning and carrying out small investigations, making observations, and taking measurements in diverse learning environments using different senses and research tools
  • M9 to guide the student to investigate, act, move around, and take excursions in nature and the built environment
  • M15 to guide the student in exploring nature, identifying organisms and habitats, thinking ecologically, and helping the student understand human structure, life functions, and development
  • M16 to coach the student in geographic thinking and observing their surroundings and the world as a whole, as well as learning to use maps and other geo-media

K1: "Students should be guided to observe the interactions and relationships between different phenomena."

K3: "Students seek information about technological developments and how they have influenced different areas of life and the environment. [...] Students should be guided to reflect on their choices from a sustainability perspective."
