THEME: REPRODUCTION AND BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY

Reproduction and Biodiversity is part of the central content I1 in environmental studies in grade 3

  • "The sexual development related to the student's age and human reproduction is addressed."

 

Reproduction and Biodiversity is part of the central content I3 in environmental studies in grade 3

  • Key perspectives include valuing the diversity of nature and culture as well as increasing global understanding.

 

Reproduction and Biodiversity is part of the central content I5 in environmental studies in grade 3

  • "Students learn about food chains, the reproduction of animals and plants, food production, the cycle of food, and the use of forests."

 

Reproduction and Biodiversity is part of the central content I6 in environmental studies in grade 3

  • When selecting content, consideration is given to preserving biodiversity, addressing climate change and how it can be mitigated, sustainable use of natural resources, promoting health, safeguarding cultural heritage, living in a multicultural world, and the global well-being of people now and in the future.

 

The goals related to I1, I3, I5, and I6 in environmental studies in grade 3 are:

  • M1 to spark and maintain the student's interest in the environment and environmental studies, and to help the student realize that all areas of environmental studies are important for them
  • M15 to guide the student to explore nature, identify organisms and habitats, think ecologically, and help the student understand human anatomy, life functions, and development

K1: "Students should be guided to notice the interaction and connections between different phenomena."

THEME: THE FOREST

The Forest is included in the core content I5 in environmental studies for the 3rd grade

  • "Students familiarize themselves with food chains, animal and plant reproduction, nutrient production and the food cycle, as well as the use of the forest."

 

The goals related to I5 in environmental studies for the 3rd grade are:

  • M1 to spark and maintain the student's interest in the environment and environmental studies and help the student realize that all subject areas in environmental studies are important for them
  • M5 to assist the student in planning and carrying out small investigations, making observations, and taking measurements in diverse learning environments using different senses and research tools
  • M9 to guide the student to investigate, act, move around, and take excursions in nature and the built environment
  • M15 to guide the student in exploring nature, identifying organisms and habitats, thinking ecologically, and helping the student understand human structure, life functions, and development
  • M16 to coach the student in geographic thinking and observing their surroundings and the world as a whole, as well as learning to use maps and other geo-media

K1: "Students should be guided to observe the interactions and relationships between different phenomena."

K3: "Students seek information about technological developments and how they have influenced different areas of life and the environment. [...] Students should be guided to reflect on their choices from a sustainability perspective."
