For each thematic area, there are references from the curriculum for each subject where the thematic area can be reflected.

Here are references to the thematic area WATER in the subjects GY and OL.

Then there are references to the thematic area CARING FOR THE LOCAL ENVIRONMENT in the subjects GY, OL, BK.

THEME: WATER

Water is included in the central content I1 in physical education for 2nd grade:

  • "Water familiarity exercises and swimming are part of physical education."

 

The objectives associated with I1 in physical education for 2nd grade are:

  • M5 acclimate the student to move in water and practice basic swimming skills 

K3: "It's important for students to learn how to move independently and safely in their local environment."

Water is included in the central content I5 in environmental studies for grade 2:

  • "Students deepen their understanding of the basic conditions for life - nutrition, water, air, heat, and care. They gain insight into food production and the source of drinking water."

Caring for the local environment is part of the core content I1 in physical education for grade 2:

  • "Students will learn to move indoors and outdoors safely and in versatile ways throughout different seasons and in various learning environments."

 

The goals related to I1 in physical education for grade 2 are:

  • M4 teach the student to move safely in different environments, using various equipment and in different positions

K3: "It is important for students to learn to move independently and safely in their local environment."

"The goal is to study phenomena within various subjects of environmental education in natural situations and environments. Learning environments include not only the school's facilities and the students' own class, but also the surrounding nature and built environments, different social contexts and situations, digital learning environments, and local opportunities such as collaborations with nature schools, museums, businesses, civic organizations, and nature and science centers."

 

Caring for the local environment is part of the core content I3 in environmental studies in grade 2:

  • "Students practice observing and investigating nature in different natural environments and built surroundings near the school. They learn to identify the most common organisms and their habitats, as well as objects in the built environment."

 

Caring for the local environment is part of the core content I4 in environmental studies in grade 2:

  • "Content includes problem-solving and investigative tasks related to nature, the built environment, everyday phenomena and technology, as well as human beings and human activities."

 

Caring for the local environment is part of the core content I6 in environmental studies in grade 2:

  • "Students gain knowledge about their home region and its significance. They participate in promoting well-being in their immediate surroundings and at school. They consider how their own actions impact themselves, other people, and the immediate environment."

  • M8 encourage the student to recognize different art objects and other visual culture in the local environment
  • M9 encourage the student to create images based on examining their own environment, different times, and different cultures
  • M10 guide the student to recognize different values in art, in their environment, and in other visual culture
  • M11 support the student in considering cultural diversity and sustainable development in their image creation
